Fabric painting Fabric colours must be fixed by using a hot iron after a couple of days of drying, this will ensure longer life for the painting, especially those done on dresses. A frame should be used to stretch the fabric and the cloth allowed to dry thorouhghly before removal. Floral patterns are usually done on cotton cloth by the student, though regular painting of landscapes etc. can also be tried, the picture above shows fabric paints used thickly on drapery.
